Our Chef Antonio Guida was born in Southern Italy in 1972. Since he was a child he has been fascinated by the magic world of culinary alchemy and that is what continues to motivate him today. He began his career as a commis de cuisine in 1998 and developed a deep knowledge of the culinary world through highly qualified experiences across Italy, France and Asia, working at some of the finest restaurants such as Pierre Gagnaire in Paris, Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence and Don Alfonso in Sant’Agata sui due Golfi. He then spent two years as Sous Chef at the restaurant La Terrazza of the Hotel Eden in Rome. In 2004, Antonio Guida became Executive Chef at Il Pellicano’s main restaurant and soon after contributed to its first Michelin star. This recognition acted as motivation for Chef Guida to further enhance his culinary arts, characterised by incredible attention to detail and the superb quality of ingredients he uses for his preparations. His interest towards the evolution of gourmet cuisine and constant work to define a new balance between look and taste, further inspire his team of selected professionals that support him daily. In 2010 Il Pellicano was awarded the second Michelin star and Chef Guida was named Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux. In 2011 Il Pellicano was awarded the highest recognition, three forks, by Italy’s leading culinary guide Gambero Rosso. |
