Green, blue and red: these are the colours that guests see from their rooms at Il Pellicano, hotel in Porto Ercole, in Tuscany, today part of The Leading Hotels of the World. Green is the colour of the gardens, blue the one of sea and sky, and red “Pellicano” paints the walls of the villas. The hotel is surrounded by rugged Mediterranean scrubland, and offers the perfect mix of luxury, exclusivity and privacy. The villas, scattered through the wide park, were built in part by the Grahams, and later transformed into welcoming hotel rooms by the designer Marie Louise Sciò.
n the fragrant Mediterranean scrubland, among cypress trees and centuries-old olive trees, rise 34 double rooms, 5 junior suites, 4 deluxe suites and 7 master deluxe suites. In addition, one or more cottages are available for exclusive rental to enjoy absolute privacy. The sober elegance and the atmosphere of a private villa, with a breathtaking view on the sea and the garden, create a peaceful feeling that through the years has enchanted Ted Kennedy, the Dutch and Spanish royal families, and Gianni Agnelli.
The design in each room goes back over to the traditional Tuscan houses’ atmosphere, thanks to typical furniture, paintings, ceramics and warm wood refinement.
All rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, safe and complimentary minibar.
The Hotel Il Pellicano, overlooking a spectacular bay on the Argentario coast, in Tuscany, is composed by a group of cottages and a central villa.
The rooms, cottages and suites, that through the years have hosted the international jet set, are all different, but they have in common subtle colours, original decorations, fine fabrics and refined furnishings, chosen by the designer Marie Louise Sciò.
In the spacious Master Suites, the guests have the feeling to be hosted in an elegant private residence, and only the five star service reminds them to be in a hotel.
The Master Deluxe Suites Sea View offer breathtaking views on the sea and the gardens.
The Deluxe Suites, recreating the warmth of a real home, are decorated with elegant but never pretentious furnishings and in the bathrooms, all different, the tiles are hand-painted by Italian artisans.
One of the Master Deluxe Suites offers a glorious seawater swimming pool including a countercurrent swimming machine.
